About
Me in 10 seconds
Energy efficiency guy. Founder & director of ARKATA. Certified Passivhaus Designer and NatHERS Accredited Energy Efficiency Assessor. Master of Architecture graduate. Co-hosts CentriPHuge; runs localhost with a good friend. Husband and father. AI-obsessed, crypto-enthusiast, optimist.
The story so far
I trained in architecture and worked on-site, and kept seeing the same thing: homes that looked beautiful in the render and underperformed in real life — single-glazed “luxury” among them. Performance was being checked at the end, when it was too late to matter.
So I moved to the other side of the drawing: building science. Sustainability consulting taught me the toolsets; permits and construction taught me how the industry actually works. In 2023 I founded ARKATA to bring the two together — early-stage thermal modelling while the design can still flex, then carrying performance through certification and construction.
My intent is the one I published on ARKATA’s site: to help lift industry understanding, expectations, and outcomes, so that better buildings become normal, not exceptional.
Away from building physics I co-host CentriPHuge, run localhost — where we run, benchmark and break open-source AI models on our own hardware — and while doing all of that I try to write about what I believe in. I live with my wife and daughter in a 3 generation household and right now, that’s here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
